Traveling for me doesn’t begin once we leave for our destination and it certainly doesn’t end upon arrival back home.
Travel starts the second a trip is booked and starts a journey of researching local culture, exploring the city through cuisine, and reliving through photos and memories back home.
Why Tia?
On the beautiful island of the Dominican Republic, where I was born, a Tia (Auntie) is a reliable and trusted part of the “village” that is very much needed to raise a child. From the moment my Tias heard the news of my arrival, they rushed to not only welcome me, but help provide critical resources and support to my parents. I try to embody this ideal through my work and bring the “it takes a village” mentality to every family I join.
“In my world there are no bad kids, just impressionable, conflicted young people wrestling with emotions and impulses, trying to communicate their feelings & needs the only way they know how.”
-Janet Lansbury
“Elainy was able to form a loving bond with my child that I couldn’t imagine was possible in such a short time frame.”
-Mom of 2 Year-Old Boy
